Rockford Lutheran Pre-Elementary

The Pre-Elementary program at Rockford Lutheran Academy addresses the needs of the whole child by correlating activities in Religion, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Art, Music, Drama, Computers, Spanish, and Physical Education.  Through these programs, students are prepared for the academic and social expectations of school life.  They learn honesty, fairness and the art of sharing.  They learn to reason and to solve problems. 

Classes

• Full Day Classes: 8:00 A.M. – 2:50 P.M.
  Monday – Friday 
  
  Half Day Classes: 8:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.
  Monday – Friday 
  
  3 Day Classes: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
  Full Day or Half Day

• Three year olds must be three by September 1 of the school year.
• Four year olds must be four by September 1 of the school year.
• Before care is available at 6:30 a.m. and after care from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m at a nominal fee.
• All children must be toilet trained.
• Class sizes are limited and provide a 10:1 staff ratio.
• The pre-elementary program follows the Lutheran school calendar.

Lunch Program

• Students may bring their own lunch or purchase a lunch.

Teacher Qualifications

• All teachers are experienced and qualified according to state standards for the grade that they teach.

Accountability

• Students will be evaluated through skills and developmental testing.
• There will be one fall and one spring parent-teacher conference.
• A nine-week skills evaluation report will be used to inform parents of progress.

Field Trips/Enrichment

• Special all school assemblies will be given for the enrichment of our education programs.
• Donuts with Dad, Moments with Mom and other special activities are planned throughout the year.
• Parents are encouraged to participate with our Christian Parent Teacher Organization (CPTO).
