Junior and Senior High School Overview

A quick look at some of our numbers reveals why Rockford Lutheran Junior/Senior High School has received national recognition for its quality academic programs:

  • 700,000 = average dollar amount of college scholarships awarded to Senior class.
  • 1209 = average composite score for SAT (national avg. = 1028)
  • 100 = percentage of college bound Seniors.
  • 23.6 = average composite score on the ACT (national avg. = 20.9)
  • 19 = Seniors recognized as Illinois State Scholars in 2007.

The high school is recognized by the state of Illinois and nationally accredited by the North Central Association for Schools.

We offer a complete college preparatory curriculum, including honors level courses in English, mathematics, science and more. Students have successfully completed AP tests in upper level French, German, Spanish, Anatomy/Physiology, Calculus and Senior English. Our extensive, state-of-the-art, technology program includes word processing, visual presentations, desktop publishing, computer programming (Java and HTML) and Computer Assisted Drafting.

We have an award-winning Fine Arts program with extensive art facilities, choral and instrumental programs that compete at the state level, and quality drama productions. Plus, we provide a full array of IHSA sports in a competitive athletic conference.

With over 670 students and a student-teacher ratio of 19:1 we provide a small class size within a caring environment on a safe, closed campus. Our teachers are state-certified and more than half hold a Masters degree.
